Advantages of Internet Courses A. “Distant” to “Closer” experience Although physical distance is still present, the real learning “space” among students is closer. Interaction may take place more actively than in a classroom, especially when traditional instruction is conducted in a large classroom and is not conducive to frequent exchange of ideas. With the use of Internet, and the World Wide Web, that distance education moves away from an objectivist approach to a constructivist environment. B. Explore the World More than any other recent educational innovation, the use of computer and Internet in education provide an opportunity for implementing effective educational and information systems on a worldwide scale. “Distance” becomes the seed of interactions among participants with diverse backgrounds and experience, and facilitates the realization of other learning models born within the contructivist approach, such as social-cultural learning.
